Mia-NJ young, female

Currently being fostered in NJ:  Mia is a 1-2 yr old girl who came to use because her family said they could no longer care for her.  Poor Mia was broken down and scared when we first pulled her from the shelter.

Mia is doing great in her foster home.  She lives with several other mastiffs and gets along great with them.  Mia, however, does NOT like to be crated.  She did break out of her crate on multiple occasions.  You will see in the picture below that she bummed up her muzzle a bit, during one of these break outs.  But, her foster family integrated her with their pack of mastiffs and now Mia stays out in the house loose with her foster siblings and does great.
Mia must be placed in a home with other dogs, as she needs the companionship.  We don't have any information on her living with young kids.  However, her foster parents had multiple kids and family members over for the Holidays and Mia mingled with everyone and loved all the company!

Mia is a beautiful, solid blue Corso.  She has natural ears and a docked tail.  If you are interested in Mia, please fill out an application.  For more information on Mia, please contact liz@canecorsorescue.org.
I cut my face while trying to break out of my crate :-(

BellaDonna-Arkansas- adult, female

This is one of my buddies
I need my tan to be even!
Currently being fostered in Arkansas:

And now, down to a fit weight of 127lbs...... BELLA!!!!  Way to get her fit, momma Becka ;-)

Hello,

My name is BellaDonna.  I am a grey Cane Corso and I am even more beautiful in person!!  So, here is a little bit about me.  My previous family raised me from 10 mos (I am now 4yrs old).  I grew up with kids, and a small dog (yup, how many Corsos do you know that are gentle with a yorkiepoo?!).  I really am a good girl and I do love people.  It takes me a few minutes to warm up to strangers (I am a Corso!!!), but once I know you, I trust you.  I am a typical female Corso, so I do want to be the head female dog in your house.  Because of this,  I would do best in a home with a male dogs only.   Again, I like dogs (remember the yorkiepoo I used to live with!!!), I just want to be the boss. ;-) As you can see, I am also good with cats!  Another unique characteristic for a Corso.  So, if you have cats, I AM YOUR GIRL!!  Wait, back to my story..... so my Dad had to take a job, last minute, spur of the moment, fly by the seat of his pants.  You see, he's a welder.  So, wherever they need him, he has to go immediately.  My mom said she couldn't keep me, the kids, and the yorkiepoo :-(, so GUESS WHO GOT THE BOOT??  You got it... I did!  It's not fair..... I am the most loyal in the family AND I am the guardian of the family.  I was devastated.  Dad wanted to take me, but he said that a travel trailer is no place for a Cane Corso :-(

Honestly, this is what I do best.  I am such the perfect dog... I play and sleep!

So, my Dad called the Rescue and asked if they would take me into their program.  I got transported to an awesome foster home in Louisiana.  The only problem is that I am a bit too much for my little canine foster sister.  She just doesn't play with me like the yorkiepoo used to.  And then, I just can't help myself... I antagonize her.  So, sadly, though my foster mom thinks the world of me... I have to get into another situation where the other dog in the house isn't so stressed.  Maybe I would fit into your family?  How can you resist a gorgeous grey Corso that is good with KIDS, DOGS, and CATS?!  Come on... fill out an  application to adopt me!

**URGENT URGENT** Skylar- AL

Skylar is in desperate need of a foster or a permanent adopter before April 1st!!!  Yikes.  It's not his fault, but he is needing to be re-homed or the family will be evicted :-(

Please let us know if you can help.  Skylar is AWESOME!!  He's house trianed, crate trained, loves big and small dogs, lives with cats and multiple dogs of all sizes, and just wants love.  His mom was beautiful Zoe, a pure bred Corso, but we don't know who Daddy was.  Sky is the PERFECT dog for a family who may not know if they want "true" Corso.  He's very easy going, happy go lucky kind of guy.  He was born and raised in rescue and this is NOT his fault.  Please HELP us!!

"there sure is a lot of room to run!"
Having fun at the dog park

Did someone say CHEEZ!

Lance-TX adult male

 Currently being fostered in TX:

Lance is my name and making people ooooohhhhh and aaaaahhhhh is my game!  Aren't I one good looking Corso?  First a little about me.....  I came from a breeder out west, but found myself lost in TX (I am not ready to share the details at this time- what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!).  While chillin' in TX, a really nice lady saw me looking for food and began feeding me.  She kept me full for a few days until finally a really nice guy came and took me for a ride in his truck.  I could tell he was pretty scared of me at first, but I just nudged him over and over and finally he trusted that I was only about some good Corso lovin'.  That guy called some crazy rescue lady in Austin, TX and now I get my story and photos all over the internet.  Aren't I a lucky guy!!

My foster mom tells me that I am such a great boy.  She raves about me and gushes all over me ;-) (I love it!).  She tells me how much the guy from the shelter (ACO, I believe she refers to him as) wants a Corso now..... all because of me.  What a compliment!  He was going to keep me, but my foster mom said that he had too many little dogs and was worried they would start trouble with me.  My foster mom keeps saying that I will have a new family... one to call my very own.  I am so excited about it.  I wonder what they will think of me.  I wonder if they will take me for car rides.  I like to ride.  I wonder if they will keep me forever........ I want a forever home.

Some more things about me..... written by my foster mom:
Lance does not have any known history with small dogs, cats, or young children.  Therefore, we are looking for a family with no small dogs or cats and only kids at least 10yrs of age.  He's a very tall Corso so when he plays, it's 120lbs of fast movements!   Lance is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash.  We estimate him to be between 4-6yrs of age.  He's very calm but he does like to play with his human friends.  Lance loves to go for walks.

If you are interested in adopting Lance, fill out an application now.

Lance's adoption donation: $300 (Lance is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped)

Sugar- OH adult, female

Currently being fostered in OH:

Sweet as sugar, this beautiful girl is properly named!  Sugar, a 6yr old formentino colored Corso, was owner surrendered to a shelter in OH, as she was told by the staff that Cane Corso Rescue would pull her and find her a great home.  Well, sure enough, that's what we are going to do.  We have a lot of information on Sugar, which is great when it comes to rehoming her.

Sugar's story:  She has been very well cared for over the years.  She was purchased from a breeder and we have records to show her yearly vetting.  Sugar lived with a single family from the time she came from the breeder to current.  This family included children ages 2-18yrs, as well as male and female dogs.  She doesn't have any history with cats, however.

Sugar is definitely a unique rescue story.  But, like all of them, she will go to a very special family.  Though she is fond of both men and women, Sugar does show some favortism towards men.  If you are interested in Sugar, please fill out an application.  Sugar is completely vetted and ready to go home!

Sugar's Adoption Donation (she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped): $250

These two videos were taken of Sugar while in doggie daycare!! ;-)

Ruger - NY - Male , baby- ADOPTED!

Ruger and he has been living with his foster family for a just a few weeks now. When Ruger first came to us he was extremely scared and timid of his surroundings, but after a few hours he began to bond & warm up to both myself and my husband. He likes to be with us and follows us around the house.  After he realizes that we are not leaving him alone he will settle down either by your feet or on a soft dog bed we have.

Ruger does sleep in his crate all night but he likes to be in view of his foster family to know that he is secure and safe. He is learning his basic commands each day and is getting better with listening and obeying.  He does walk on a leash and we are training him to stay by our sides and not to pull. Ruger is still working on his potty training and is getting better as the days go by>  Unfortunately he had no one to train him.

He is living in foster with 5 cats and another Corso.  Although he is fine with them Ruger wants and needs all the attention a family can give him and he does not like to share that if he does not have to. He is curious about the cats but when we tell him no, he will back off and not bother them. If Ruger were to go to a home that has another dog, he needs the same equal love and attention given to him, since for his first 9 months he did not receive this from anyone.

When it comes to meal time he is in 7th heaven. Ruger has learned that after eating and drinking he is to have his face wiped and will let you with no issues, as well after he comes in from a walk or running around. He has learned that all 4 paws are to be wiped before he is able to enter the home.

Ruger is cautious when a stranger does enter the home.  He just needs time to figure out who the person is coming into his surroundings.

Ruger needs to be in a loving and caring home where his new family will have patience and continue to work with him.

Cute Carmen- PA 1-2yr old female

Meet Carmen!  Carmen is a petite, black brindle Cane Corso that was found as a stray in Ohio.  Carmen arrived at the shelter SEVERELY under weight (only 46lbs!!!!).  Despite her being in a state of starvation, Carmen demonstrated nothing short of pure delight in everyone and everything she met/was introduced to.  Carmen would be a great Corso for someone not as familiar with the breed, as she has less guardian nature than most Cane Corsos.  Carmen is great other dogs, and would most likely do ok in a home with cats (though, we would need to specifically cat test her).

Carmen does demonstrate barrier reactivity, which means she barks when other dogs come near her crate.  No problem though, just let her out of her crate and she is great!  Carmen has a very short crop job on her ears, as they were probably done at home :-(.  But, Carmen's temperament is nothing short of AMAZING.  Fill out an application now to adopt Carmen!  You won't be disappointed in this beautiful companion.

Carmen's Adoption Donation: $350  And like ALL CCR dogs, Carmen is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative!

Precious Presa Lyla- PA young, female, Presa Canario

Currently being fostered in PA:
Meet Lyla and be ready to fall in love! Lyla was brought to the shelter as a stray and her owners never came looking for her. It's really hard for us to believe, because this amazing girl is perfect! Lyla likes everyone, and is even good with other dogs! She knows basic commands such as sit and heel, and wants nothing more than to be next to you and give you kisses. Her tail never stops wagging and she loves everyone she meets! Lyla currently lives with 2 cats, 3 female corsos and 1 male corso.
Lyla is a Presa Canario, a mastiff originally from the Canary Islands.  This breed forms a strong bond with their family and is an active, playful yet protective (when necessary).  Lyla is truly one of a kind and whomever gets approved to adopt her, will have a great companion.  Lyla is a BIG, strong girl and does need more leash work.  However, she learns quickly and with regular exercise, leash training will be a breeze.  Lyla is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and ready to go home! If you have any questions about Lyla please feel free to email her foster mom at canecorsorescuevolunteers@yahoo.com

Stan the MAN- CT- adult male

This is Stanley!  How handsome is this senior guy?  Stanley was pulled from a high kill NY shelter.... CCR was full, but the emails, texts, and calls about "such an AMAZING Cane Corso" kept coming in.  We had to pull this lovely guy.  Stan, now in a fabulous foster home in CT, lives with 2 female Corsos and a male shepherd.  There is also a cat in the household, though Stan could use a little work in this area ;-)  Stan is super bonded to his foster human siblings.

Stan is a typical guardian breed and will protect his family.  For this reason, he would best be placed in a family with guardian breed experience.  Don't get us wrong, he's awesome!!  He is true to the Corso breed.  He can go on outings, etc, and loves them.

As you can see, Stan loves to lie around the house.  But, get a ball out and he's an active boy with puppy energy!  Stan walks well on a leash and his foster parents are teaching him manners and basic obedience commands (they are good about hand signals ;- ) ). Stan is 100% house trained and ready to go home.  He's a great dog looking for a great family to join.

Stan's Adoption Donation: $250

BIG LOVERBOY Brando- IN adult, male

This is Brando.  Isn't he super handsome?  This boy is BIG, weighing in at 153lbs and we think he's around 3-5yrs old. As you may know, this is way larger than what a typical Corso weighs.  But, don't let this big boy fool you, he is very good boy.

Here is what his foster mom has to say about him:

"I just wanted to let you know how Brando is settling in here.  He is doing pretty good adjusting.  He follows my husband everywhere, and is very vocal when separated from the family.  He is the biggest baby I've ever met.  He doesn't seem to realize just how big he is!  He has had no accidents and is getting use to his crate at night.  He doesn't love it but he does good.
He is just a big ole behemoth with lots of love to give.  Lily isn't super thrilled with him but he just pushes her out of the way when she gets in his way.
We put up a baby gate to give them separate space only to discover he is big enough to heave himself over the gate without every knocking it down!
He does lay around a lot but never likes to be far from my hubby. He seems to really be a one person dog.   In the evening we've been playing fetch with both dogs and he will chase the ball, bring it back and after about 4-5x is done!  Then he will let Lily have it!
He is a really sweetie and we are thrilled to be able to help him.
We will keep you posted! "

Mugsy- KY young, male

Meet Muggs.......

Muggs is a sweet and amazing Cane Corso that came from Northern Ohio after his daddy left him in a backyard with no food or water for quite a long time. Muggs was taken care of by a sweet group of neighbors who fed and watered him and took good care of him until the local Animal Control was allowed to take action. The neighbors then went as far as to team up with a group of kind-hearted people at the animal control to reach out to CCR and save Muggs and his partner in crime, Bear (found around the same time, in a very similar situation). Muggs was given a clean bill of health, has been neutered, updated on shots, and chipped, and is ready for his new home! Muggs turns 2 years old within the next few months. He is pretty much house broken and crate trained, is good with other dogs, and tested OK with cats, although he does not currently live with one. Muggs came into the shelter emaciated and is still working on putting that weight back on, but he is ready for his furever home! Muggs loves everyone, strangers and family alike!

Yes, I am still skinny but gaining weight!

Bear and Muggs on transport to SAFETY!!

Baby Love Bug Luna- PA baby, female

Currently being fostered in PA with 2 cats and 3 other dogs:

Here is more information about Luna, from her foster Mommy:

"Luna is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. Luna absolutely loves everyone she meets, other dogs, cats, babies... Pretty much everything! She has of the basic ground training down pat and will sit, lay down and come on command. Luna is a very smart dog and with a little time could easily learn many other commands. If you are looking for a ball of love and fun look no further then Luna! Luna is approximately 9 months old and 70 pounds.  If you have any questions regarding Luna please feel free to contact me at klnaf@yahoo.com"

Hi, my name is Luna!
Meet baby Luna.......

Luna is a gorgeous, and oh so precious Cane Corso puppy. Her mommy, Zoe, you may remember surprised us all and had a surprise litter of pups just weeks after we pulled her from a high kill shelter. All but a few of her pups are already in their permanent homes (some pups took longer to get vetted in different states, etc). Luna has almost had 2 "almost" adoptions, but life changing stressors in the to-be-adoptive families have caused both to have to back out of adopting for now :-( Luna is a happy, sweet, full of energy 6mos old puppy! She would benefit greatly from having at least 1 other canine peer and she can live with cats too! Currently, Luna is in a loving foster home with a young baby and she is doing great. This girl will be adopted quickly, so get your application in. Luna truly is a LOVE BUG!!

This is momma Zoe's foot with one of Luna's sisters!

This is my mommy... isn't she gorgeous!
Here are a few pictures of Luna's siblings and of course, her beautiful Corso mommy!!  As you can see, Luna has really nice genes ;-)
