I'm so thrilled to announce that our new site went live yesterday...yay!!! After years of being a "static" website, CaneCorsoRescue.org has finally transitioned into the world of Web 2.0. Now, all of our Cane Corso Committee members have the ability to post rescues on the site, instead of having one person do it all. That said...please be patient while our current rescues are posted. Meanwhile, we still have the Petfinder tab above, but please note that it will be removed once all of the rescues are posted on this site.
Come join us on Twitter and "like" us on Facebook! :)
Hey I love the new site! Great job ladies :)
ReplyDeleteHow do I contact someone to DONATE??? I can't find email anywhere!
ReplyDeleteHow do I contact CaneCorsoRescue? I would like them to be aware of the 4 Cane Corsos that are currently (I believe) in the Delaware County (Ohio) Animal Control Shelter because they attacked a man last week. The owner says he doesn't want them. According to the news, the dogs will be held in the Shelter until after the trial and then I'm afraid their fate isn't good. Not sure if anything can be done---have a feeling they have not been treated as they should have been. Too bad, they appear to be a wonderful breed.
ReplyDeleteYou can email us at canecorsorescueinc@yahoogroups.com or fill out a surrender form with as much info about the dogs as possible. Yes, I did read the newspaper article. Such a shame that owners can be so irresponsible.
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada, is there any type of organization like this up here. If not, am I still able to adopt from you guys?
ReplyDeleteHi Kiernan. Unfortunately I am unable to give you the name of an organization that does what we do in Canada. I do recommend you fill out an application with us, as from time to time, we are notified about Corsos in Canada. Are you willing/able to drive to the states to pick up your new companion?
ReplyDeleteHello Liz,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mike. I live in Massachusetts and have a 4 year 8 month old Corso named Mac. I am Mac's 4th home, he has been with me for 1 yr and 4 months. He is 145 lbs, neutered and very sweet 99.7% of the time. While I have no issues with him, my family does.
Apparently, someone in his past has hit him and he becomes fearful and reacts defensively when he feels threatened. Like while being scolded after stealing a loaf of bread from the counter.
He recently lunged at my girlfriend. I realize that if he had wanted to harm her, he would have. However, She is afraid of him now and wants NOTHING to do with him.
While I hate the idea of him having to change families yet again, I feel it is in his best interest. Since, he can sense the negative feelings towards him now. I do not want him to act out worse while I am not home.
Can you PLEASE help me find Mac a good, loving, understanding, home? His LAST home! He really needs and deserves to be happy and loved by everyone around him.
I hope you can help.
Mike
Hi Mike,
ReplyDeleteHow sad. You are correct though, if all family members are not confident leaders, the Corso will continue to act defensively. Please contact the group via canecorsorescueine@yahoogroups.com or liz@canecorsorescue.org to give us more info on him, including pictures. We can try to place him, but you will have to keep him until a home is found. As you can see, we are more than FULL!
