Mongo Rufus- NY puppy, male- ADOPTED!!!!

Currently being fostered in CT:

Wipe that drool off your face- I know I am irresistable!
I just can't resist the driver seat every once and awhile!

Mongo with his foster family!

Here I am learning to "stay".
How adorable is this big guy!  Mongo, previously named Rufus,  has been loved and cared for all his life.  However, Mongo has not been in the hands of an owner with the time, experience, patience, and leadership skills needed to raise a Cane Corso puppy.  So, his owner did the right thing..... he surrendered him to our organization.  Mongo is now in a fabulous foster home, where his foster family is helping him perfect his manners, and learn how to walk properly and respectfully on a leash.  They are also working with him on crate training- helping him learn that his crate is his den, not a punishment.  Mongo is a very intelligent dog (as are all cane corsos! ;-) ) and is doing so well with training.
Can we play with the tennis ball now?
I know that you can't resist this gorgeous baby face, but please remember this baby face will soon be a mature, dominant breed mastiff face.  Mongo must have an owner that will readily and confidently take on the role as Mongo's leader, so that Mongo doesn't feel the need to be the leader.  Mongo is good with other dogs, but does not have experience with cats.  In addition, Mongo will only be placed in a home with older human children (6yrs +).  If you are interested, please fill out an application at www.canecorsorescue.org.  Mongo will be ready to go to his new home in a few weeks!

  1. Foster mom here...Mongo is almost ready 100% potty trained, starting to heal on a leash, sits and lays down on command. He is an active, playful puppy.
