Jazz-a-Roo - NJ - Young, Female (Special Needs) - ADOPTED!!!!

Update 8.21.11: Poor Jazz has been in foster care so long we had to move her to another foster home. :-( Jazz is a wonderful Corso who deserves a forever family. Please don't let her seizure disorder prevent you from considering this girl. Since her medication has been switched she has not had a seizure.
Jazz has switch medications that better suits her epilepsy and she has been seizure free . The medication costs went from $40 per month to $16 per month. She is house broken and has learned the commands sit, stay and come. She would make a great dog for a family with older children. She is very energetic and loves to play outside. She needs a home with an experienced dog owner. She  gets along well with other dogs and cats. She loves to play with adults, children, and other furry friends. Jazz would really love a forever home to call her own.

Updated from foster Mom 6.7.11:

Jazz has been with us for about a week now. She is adjusting nicely to "house living". She needs some basic training but learns quickly. She loves to play with other dogs and people. She is friendly and is minimal in her barking. She is very energetic and requires walking and chew toys to keep her active. She loves to be brushed and pet. She has been taking her medicine twice a day, daily and has had no signs of a seizure since arriving.

Jazz will make a great pet for a family with no dogs, or other dogs. She gets along with cats as well. She needs an owner who is experienced with the breed.

I will pass more information as I learn it from her.

Jazz-a-Roo is happy, happy, happy!
***Jazz-a-Roo is SAFE****

Jazz will sit for you!
Jazz was so sad in that shelter!
Jazz-a-Roo is a  1 1/2 yr old female Cane Corso with epilepsy who was surrendered by the owner due to her medical condition and the inability to afford the $40 per month medication fee. Jazz-a-Roo is a very sweet, lovely girl who was residing in a high-kill shelter in NY. We all knew a Corso with a medical Condition in a shelter would certainly lead to death if we couldn't find her a foster home . Well, YOUR efforts paid off and Jazz-a-Roo is happily getting acclimated to her new foster home. Jazz-a-Roo is a beautiful blue brindled Corso whose pictures do not due her justice. The shelter has fully vetted her and has her complete medical history. Their vet prescribed Phenobarbital which appears to have the seizures under control. More information about Jazz-a-Roo will be forthcoming. Jazz is about 1 year old and weighs about 70 lbs.

Jazz-a-Roo's adoption donation is $350.

  2. Sorry, I erased this entire message by accident.

I would be interested in adopting Jazz-a-Roo. Living in Arizona would be a good place as she can be out and about all year round. I like seeing that her ears have not been spiked. She would be the only dog for awhile but will have a cat to play with. My cat is very independent and difficult to handle at times. She hides out under my box springs when company or other animals come into the home. Her former family said that she likes dogs and cats. She definitely doesn't care much for humans but tolerates us. She was a rescue as well. I also like Fiona and Cleo too and might be interested in adopting Cleo as well. There is a great dog park that has runs enclosed and lake that the dogs love to jump in and swim, play fetch, etc... One German Shorthair pointer just sat in the water, waiting to fetch the ball her owner was throwing in the water. She came up and rubbed against me several times and sat down with me to rest. Animals like me for some reason. I read that corsos also like to swim? I also might be interested in volunteering to foster corsos here in Arizona. *info removed for privacy*
The reason I am looking at the Corsos is I would like to have a dog with strong protective instincts. Most mobile home parks will not let Dobermans, pitbulls, rottweilers, some mastiffs, Chows, etc... into the parks because of their bad press. I also plan on getting back into my photography and I will be in a lot of places by myself and I want the dog to be my partner when trekking about the desert and mountains to discourage two legged and four legged critters from disturbing me. We have our share of unbalanced minds in the city but the desert really seems to draw the kooks. I would like to do a photo journal of the ghost towns of Arizona so would need a couple of good dogs with me. Another interest is in doing pet photography as well. Placed in the right setting, these dogs have a natural beauty of strangth and calmness that demands respect for this beautiful animal. I screen my calls so if you get the message machine, please leave a message and if I am home, I will pick up. Am thinking of having a friend of mine put in a doggy door when I get a dog.

  3. Hi, this is Jazzaroo's current foster mom. This is one terrific dog. She gets along with big, medium and small dogs with NO problem. She likes all people of all sizes. Jazz is very well socialized and thoroughly enjoys the company of others. She is learning her manners very well. She heals, sits, lays down and is now waiting on command. Jazz does take medicine, but this is SO easy, just in her breakfast and again at dinner. No seizures at all! Jazz is about 2 years old and 80 lbs. She is a small Corso with beautful coloring! This is not a dog to pass by, she is a real love.
