Maxine is a pint sized Corso that is desperately trying to find her forever home. Weighing in at about 35 lbs, this little girl will melt your heart. Maxine was surrendered with her sister Shirley Q to a high-kill shelter in NYC. With hours to live, CCR pulled and boarded them as a result of a generous donor. From there the girls were transported by our wonderful volunteers, Mike and Diane, to the southern part of the US. Maxine's pick-up fell through and she has been riding with them across country. Maxine has been riding in the cab of their truck from PA to CA to CO with a lot of stops in between. She went from a frightened Corso who preferred to 'hide and peer' to a more trusting sweetheart who enjoys eating steak and ham from your hand as well as cuddling along side you as you sleep. Maxine has never had an accident in the truck, car, or home. This is truly remarkable considering she had never been in a home. Maxine still has to work on developing her Corso confidence but she has made tremendous progress in a short amount of time. See the video of her first day in rescue.
