Leo - IL - Young, Male

Currently being fostered in Illinois:

Leo, Leo, Leo......what a dreamy boy you are! Not only is he handsome, but he's entertaining too. Leo walks and plays just fine, but he does have a hip bone that is not completely formed. Sadly, this bone will never be normal, due to someone trying to accelerate his growth (people are cruel). Leo's foster says: "Leo can make a bad day good, because he is so full of personality"....he loves his swimming pool in the warm weather & loves to play & hang out in the yard. Leo will best be homed in a family that has Mastiff experience, as he has been "allowed" to be the leader in the past and we don't want these behaviors to be demonstrated again. Leo has never been a bad dog.... no, no, he just needs to have a confident, strong, human leader so that he doesn't feel like he must control all situations. As most dogs, Leo will benefit from formal obedience training and this will be a requirement of his new family. Leo likes other dogs, but he would love nothing more than to be the only dog. Leo is a a big happy go lucky guy who needs his own home !!! Please consider adding Leo to your family !!!

Leo's Adoption Donation is $350

  1. Look at that face! Love it! And those eyes....
I am very interested in Leo, sending an e-mail to inquire about him. Two things: 1) I am unable to download the adoption form and 2) will Leo's hip bone condition require surgery in the future

  3. Hello,

I will ask Leo's foster mom for more pictures and an update. If you are interested in him, please fill out an application and I will be happy to put you in touch with his foster mom. You should be able to simply click on the "Adopt" link above to fill out the app. If you have trouble, please visit www.texasccr.org and try that application.

Leo moves well and we do not believe he will have to have surgery. However, it will be very important to keep him active, on joint supplements (I recommend GLC), lean, and on a high quality diet.

  4. I think Leo is beautiful (...oh pardon, I mean HANDSOME!) and would LOVE to have him as my family. I would like to ask just to ask...the post above states that the issue with his bone doesn't not cause him problems with walking and it is not anticipated that he will need any type of surgery to correct it...is it even visual then or how was it even detected? Please let me know if it would be possible to get him transported to Colorado. paige.s@live.com
